This event was not well thought of.

The execution of the event was great, however the event itself is quite frustrating (but obviously not for the people mindlessly grinding the cultists for their absurdly broken loot tables) for many reasons:

  • Only one extract available when the ritual starts, heavily encouraging extract camping
  • 20 second extraction time during and after ritual
  • Guaranteed death unless you loophole by using the PPsh (or something else that wasn't even intended to be allowed by the developers) or get lucky evading the cultist
  • Gun jamming / rushed by tons of scavs / decreased stamina / etc. on ritual success
  • One punishes all concept – a player or a group of players starts the ritual and fails to stop it in time, therefore everyone will be punished

I just had a raid on Woods, where the ritual is started across the map from me as I'm already trying to extract. I wouldn't even have time to run there and try to stop it myself. Get near extract, and extract camper is there shooting at me (luckily killed him). Ritual succeeds a moment after, and then I die to the boss who instant spawns near me.

The concept of the event is cool, but the actual implementation is garbage. Everyone basically dying because of the actions of a player or group of players is mindless. The only people who likely won't agree with me are those who are grinding cultists for their broken loot tables.

Sure, if I was playing to grind the cultists every raid (which is boring to begin with) I wouldn't be complaining – but I am not trying to do that. Not to mention the extract camping incentives, lack of counterplay or simply opting out of the BS if the ritual fails.

And what happened to BSG promising not to ruin loot in the wipe from events? Now we just chuck out marked keys and rare keycards at broken rates like its nothing… lol ok.

Downvote me if you want, but imo this is a lame event for everyone but people grinding it and/or abusing it with certain methods
