Trying to win with Broodmother, but can’t. What am I doing wrong?

I think Broodmother is really cool but it seems like I can't win a single game with her. I'm currently Divine 3 and I was Divine 5 when I started playing her. I've played 13 games and won 1. I've tried mid and offlane with her. I buy like Soul Ring, Orchid, Power Treads and BKB, which seems to be the most standard build. One game I last picked and was mid against Pangolier. At level 6/7 he could one shot all my spiders with one Q, so I couldn't have them anywhere near the lane. I tried farming my side of the map until I had items and we ended up losing. Once I was against a Drow and this was a rare case where I was able to crush mid. After taking mid I tried to take over her triangle/jungle, deward & ward around me, and help side lanes. I just kept getting ganked anyway and ended up being useless and losing. What am I doing wrong?
