Unpopular opinion: Odyssey engineering isn’t as bad as they say

Caveat – Settlement Defence Plans can piss off.. But it genuinely is nowhere near as hard as I expected. I've been playing Odyssey since December after making the switch to pc. I've got a G5 Maverick with every mod I wanted, 2 G5 fully modded Executioners (one for stealth and one for Czs) a G5 p-15 (really want these defence plans so I can get headshot damage) and I'm close to G5 on my AR-50, and close to G5 on 2 Dominator suits (one for stealth, one for Czs). There are also G4s of various weapons in there, along with Artemis with 2 decent mods. Missions provide plenty of the needed mats, and the rest are found quite easily in the various settlement types. When I was reading about the mega grind for this, I wasn't expecting to have made this much progress. I am not a grind player at all. I've never done the famous passenger missions, I never relog etc, I've just played the game and done all the mission types available, and looted meticulously at any opportunity (racking up massive bounties and fines, but hey ho). I understand that people feel they need to rush to get all this stuff ASAP if they don't have enough playing time, but Elite is meant to be a long game – people have been playing non stop since release and are still loving it… Burnout is real, from what I've seen and heard. I think burn out is caused by a mindset that is not conducive to this kind of game. I know people will disagree completely with this, but I just wanted to share my experience so far. I'm really enjoying it and am happy to slowly work on the rest of my upgrades, getting deadlier and more efficient with every mission πŸ™‚ o7 CMDRs
