Valheim is Soul Sucking

I lost my corpse high up on a mountain surrounded by plains, and there's nothing I can do to retrieve it. Preparation was not the problem, I was equipped in full upgraded iron, with the best food I could get in the game at my point of progression, health potions and portal ingredients for when I got to a suitable place, in addition to a portal I had already placed at the bottom of the mountain. But I fell off a sheer cliff and died, and for the past eight hours I've been trying to retrieve my corpse. Unfortunately, it's just impossible, and it makes me want to cry. I did everything right and this game screwed me hard. This isn't the first time this has happened either. I recall having my body lost in the middle of a plains biome when I played over a year ago and it was simply impossible to retrieve without recrafting all the equipment I was trying to recover. I'm so angry right now I can barely contain myself. All I wanted to do was experience end game content and I can't even do that. I think I'm done with this game for good. It's just not right…
