So yeah, this Viper is my only ship and I've been slowly learning more about the game while I fly it (solo mode). I add stuff to it periodically , swapping things out. I finally tried a 'Massacre' mission for a faction. It was rated as Harmless. "Right up my inexperienced alley," I thought to myself. Well, I roll in there and side with the faction that hired me, and dive right in. It didn't take too long before my shields were gone and I was taking on damage. I keep afterburning out of there and coming back in the fight, but finally I had to FSD out of there. At least I was smart enough to run.
So, my question:
I have a 3C Power Plant and a 3E Shield Generator. Should I upgrade it to a 3C BiWeave (which almost puts me over on my power), or are shields just one issue? Do I need chaff? Shield cell banks? Mini-bar?
And as if on queue as I write this post, I got a nasty email from the faction saying "Thanks for nothing."
