VSS is an underrated BUDGET weapon

Everyone, there is a budget weapon that is ignored by many players due to its stock cost: AS-Val or VSS. Let me try to convince you it's actually you best friend for budget run:

Pros:

– Lightweight

– SP-5 is 2 times cheaper than BP for much better performances. On paper it's efficient against Class 3 Armor but it will destroy every armor quickly.

– Very Low Recoil

– No mods needed. Making it a less interesting item to loot, high insurance return probability.

– 20-rounds mag is cheap

– Always silenced

– Accurate

Cons:

– Very high bullet drop after 50m

– High price (roughly 60k) + 10-15k for a scope

– Unreliable, expensive to repair & fast to deteriorate

Compared to a stock AK it's almost 3x the price, but remember that modifying your weapon will quickly raise its value. You'll never get the VSS recoil stats without spending a 100k in modifying that AK.

My guess is that the weapon is ignored due to its high entry cost and its "end-game aura". But cheap ammo & high performances makes it a valuable choice especially if you're on a budget.

Dovetail OKP-7 or Kobra are the scopes i'd strongly advise you to use, Kobra mount makes the scope a little to high in my opinion. You'll quickly get use to either Aim (much) higher or raise the zeroing to compensate the high bullet drop.
