We need to talk about streamer preference…

Let me caveat this by saying I want the best for EFT and am incredibly grateful for BSG's efforts and the streamers who are helping promote the community.

That being said, we we need answers as to how and/or why streamers have been able to play this game with a fraction of the problems experienced by the rest of the community (current server issues notwithstanding).

Like many of you, I eagerly anticipated the latest wipe and made time to make sure I could play it, only to find it was practically impossible to update the game much less get into a raid. But that sure wasn't a problem for the streamers I was watching! Nope, they were actively playing raid after raid with none of the connectivity or download issues a VAST majority of the community experienced. I'd like to chalk this up to differences in hardware, location, etc. but that's clearly not the case based on the feedback I've read with folks operating the beefiest of PCs all across the globe. It also clearly hasn't been limited to the beginning of the wipe, as many of the bigger streamers have loaded into raids, menus, etc. with relative ease compared to us peasants.

I've never bought into the whole "streamer preference" conspiracy, and I fully admit that I might be ignorant as to some details here, but this massive difference in user performance doesn't make sense to me. *IF* BSG is giving streamers preferential treatment, they should be clear about how and why. Personally, I think it's bullshit that a company many of us have paid $100+ to *might* be giving preferential treatment to streamers simply because of publicity reasons, but that's just my opinion. Either way, the community deserves some clarity on this issue.

TL;DR: BSG needs to clarify if/why/how streamers are getting preferential treatment.
