What would you restrict through portals?

I’m thinking of the settings I’d like on my next playthrough. I’d like to create the need to rely on more sailing and building more out-bases while still having portals.

In addition to ores and metals, I would restrict cores (surtling and whatever the new ones will be) and nails (bronze, iron, and any future types.)

This would mean an end to breaking down a boat and taking the mats through a portal to reassemble on the other side.

Also, not related to portals, I think there should definitely be a stack/weight benefit of having smelted metal versus raw ore.

I’ve even considered allowing no items at all the though portals, just naked people like some other games do, but in the end that seemed too much for me.

Are there any other settings or mods you’ve implemented to create a more immersive experience?
