What’s up with most streamers completely covering their minimap lately ?

And how does it not affect their viewership numbers ?

Granted it's high level DOTA, english spoken and stream quality (read : the image) is good, being able to see even partially masked minimap has become my #1 criteria when choosing which stream I'm gonna watch.

How can you really understand the current game, its flow, without being able to have such information ? It's totally beyond me how the viewership hasn't shifted towards streamers still offering (partial) access to their minimap…

Yes, I get it, steam snipers. But with proper filter on the minimap (those basically showing wards everywhere) it shouldn't be possible to snipe wards so easily right ? Or at the very least a filter that only shows the towers and racks ? Any reason not to use that ?
