Hey,
Does anyone else actually enjoy doing team leadership/therapy? Those of you who do, what are your pro-tips?
I wanted to bring up again a topic that I know has been spoken about before, but has recently been on my mind. A lot of my friends don’t play ranked anymore because they hate dealing with the random people getting pissed on their teams, but I actually sort of enjoy this part of Dota. Like taking a game where we can definitely win, and being a team lead and helping the people see the path to victory.
When I’m playing shitty for whatever reason, my sense of self-worth or self-esteem is not really impacted by people trash talking me, so I usually just apologize for the behavior and try to convince them it’s not ruining the game and that I need their help or whatever.
When I’m doing super well and my teammates are tilting because of their lane, I try to show them how I can carry in the mid game until they get caught back up.
A lot of people hate this sort of stuff but it’s like the opposite of being anonymous shithead online. You have nothing significant to lose by allowing yourself to be a punching bag if necessary.
