3 Ideas for how Solos and Duos could be made more regularly available without increasing queue times

Idea #1: Weekly rotations.

  • Respawn could have Solos and Duos on a weekly rotation, just like how they did it with World's Edge and King's Canyon for the Deja Loot LTM.

Idea #2: Solos permanent but duos only on weekends.

  • Now to be fair this idea is the worst one as its unfair to duo players but its an idea nonetheless. The logic behind this idea is that Solos is more dramatically different than Duos when compared to the typical "Trios" so Solos should be the game mode that becomes permanent and Duos should be the weekend playlist.

Idea #3: Apex 50 / 50

  • Why not both? That's the idea behind Apex 50 / 50.
  • Rather than switching back and forth between 2 game modes, why not just combine them?
  • Half of the players in a game will be solo players (30 solos) and the other half will be duo players (15 pairs of duos.)
  • Players will be able to choose beforehand if they want to be a solo or a duo. Premade duos will obviously have to play as a duo to prevent cheating.
  • Solos will be given 1 free self revive, (Which can be restocked at Respawn Stations if used and DOES use up the Respawn Station's use as well as make an equally loud yet different noise to let people know nearby that it was used by a solo player) a level 1 knockdown shield, and a level 1 body shield at the start of every game. This is to give solo players a better chance on initial drops, give them a chance to get back up if downed, make it unknown whether an enemy is a solo or duo, and of course to allow for finishers to still be done on solo players for those (like me) who love going for finishers. Any free goodies for solo players at the start of games is of course subject to criticism and change if deemed to be too much or too little.
  • This game mode is meant to be a permanent solution for Solos and Duos in Apex without increasing queue times.
