i made an apex conspiracy theory and my friend told me i should post it here

dont use reddit too often but i thought this would be a fun read for yall!

"hammond is coming for your favorite legends

lets start with Hammond/IMC

what do we know about them? what do they stand to benefit from the apex games? hammond robotics has had the same goal theyve always had: they want to siphon resources out of valuable planets and they dont want to be bothered about it.

up until the frontier wars they pretty much had free reign to destroy as they pleased. but the wars are over now, and what was the convenient solution that arrived to stop the (costly) fighting? the apex games.

the apex games are not only a fat cash cow of entertainment for the outlands, its also a distraction. who's going to say anything if hammond drops in a planet harvester when it doubles as a new hot spot and focal point in the games? if the legends are ok with it why should anyone else make a fuss?

its clear that the apex games are an astounding success, something that hammond cant risk losing. and what are the games without the legends? each one is a valuable asset not just for the games, but for all the hidden agendas the games are fronting for.

hammond cant risk losing their prized legends over silly things like 'death' and 'age' and 'illness'. theyve got work to do! people to entertain! (see: distract) whats a great solution to ensure all your favorite legends survive to fight in the next season?

w the introduction of revenant in season 4 we learn all types of fun (see: awful) things abt hammond robotics and their shady shenanigans. the most important of those shenanigans being how they FORCE PEOPLE INTO BECOMING SIMULACRUMS AGAINST THEIR WILL AND WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE

we can all safely agree that revenant, now cut free from his IMC/Hammond puppet strings, is more or less a reliable source. he is definitely not some1 working w their best interest in mind. he has a few voicelines that imply things may not be what they seem

'its all a bad dream'

'last batch of legends looked hopeful too'

'youre already dead'

now sure… we COULD chalk this up to him being our favorite emo edgelord robot… but respawn is smart about their teasers and they know how to play the long con. if theres 1 thing ive learned about apex its that these beautiful, devious devs will dangle things right in front of your face knowing that without context, you wont put together what theyre up to

the newest trailer that dropped today had some unnerving shots that imply a VS dynamic between the 'synth' legends and their OG counterpoints…. respawn loves 2 be artsy and its rarely on accident… cue "doesnt matter who you are in the 'real world' "

the gist of this theory? hammond realized they could save themselves any possible headaches by simply turning their fleshy, mortal legends into something much bigger, and much easier to contain and control. in the new event we are told about 'latest cutting edge prototypes' which could very well be our legend's new simulacrum bodies.

"geeze slatrako miklimunr, thats fucking depressing!" im sure youre all saying rn. bc same. it is! but i hate depressing things so theres no way im ending this already long conspiracy thread without a possible solution. a glimmer of hope for our darling legends….

what could save them you wonder? well its a WHO and its f*cking BLOODHOUND babey!

thats right. our beautiful, intelligent, capable, incredible, dashing, (cont.) legend, bloodhound. theyve been NOTABLY absent in recent events and are the only legend that doesnt have a new 'simulacrum' skin design.

sure you can chalk this up to them being shamefully ignored by the devs, but im choosing to not believe that for the sake of this theory.

i also dont think respawn would just do us dirty like that. like i said, they rarely do things on accident. and forgetting an entire legend for 3 events seems hard to do on accident.

we know very little about them except for the fact that worlds edge is their home (taught to us by the loading screen art descripts.) and now that home is being destroyed by the planet harvester and all of their felagi fighters are possibly being turned into simulacrum

as of current, no one knows why bloodhound joined the games and since then theyve won 4 championships. they are a very skilled technological tracker who seems to not want for money or fame. so why wouldnt hammond have a robo-back up of our glorious hunter?

they have every reason to not trust hammond and to shy away from their mechanization. but are they simply keeping their distance? or will they be the hero we need? has the allfather sent this hunter to save their planet and friends?
