tl;dr: WG did good
I didn't really see anyone commenting on this so far, but the new game mode is fun and compared to the Sanbox version few years back it is pretty damn well polished. The bots now play way better and have clear path finding and some degree of freedom, which is nice.
I'D love to see a "support this tank/follow me" option or be able to command the bots while playing inside of a tank. but that's just the SH commander in me, who is used to giving orders and playing.
I wonder what arty mains will think of this, as this is their ideal RTS game mode.
On the topic of RTS: I vaguely remember that WoT was supposed to be an RTS at the beginning of the development. I kind of like how they came back to the idea.
Only things that bugs me so far is the defensive nature of the strategist. I get it against players, you need some kind of edge. But in the 1v1 that is available so far I'd just remove it. It promotes CaMpInG and it is REALLY hard to break camp of actually good player. On the other hand I had some of those WG dream battles of pushing, failing, regrouping and repushing to clutch a close wictory.
GG WG, this gamemode is simply GREAT. I just hope that they won't have to dumb it down too much for the average players…
