From my understanding, the 3x overmatch rule should mean that any 34mm armor or below should be automatically penetrated by my 105 mm gun (I was playing in Tier 9 French collector vehichle AMX 30 1er). One time I would assume i had an unlucky shot that went wide and hit the gun or something.
The 130 PM was alone in a bush and seeing it had no support, I decided to take him on. My first shot ricocheted, my second shot was absorbed, and then he had time to reload and finish me off.
I know I am not a great player, but from my understanding of the mechanics, I don't understand how I hit a 130-PM twice and not cause any damage. I checked on and even thru the tracks its a 100% penetration chance. What am I missing? I feel like this happens all the time to me and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
