Never enjoyed playing, couldn’t figure out why

I played for a number of years and was moderately successful. However, I never really enjoyed playing and I could never really figure out why.

After taking an into to psychology course and learning about B.F. Skinner's work on operant conditioning I realized that WoT is basically a big operant conditioning box.

Then, I found this paper on the psychology of the near miss. (https://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~aldous/157/Papers/near_miss.pdf)

I've come to realize that I don't like playing because it tickles a part of my deep monkey brain that compels me to play. I like playing games that are fun and bring me a sense of joy and not games that work on my brain wiring.

Anyway, just thought I'd toss this out for others who feel similarly.
