Genuine question. Back in the day, I used to play arena matches in WoW to a reasonably high level. You would get rewarded with gear as you progressed up the competitive ladder. However, the matchmaker ensured you'd face other players -/+ your skill level within sensible margins.
You could go into random battlegrounds and enjoy some advantage over less geared players – but arena play was such a specialised thing, that it rarely happened.
This isn't the case in WoT randoms. Randoms are the main game. And now we have the Object 279e and T95/FV4201 Chieftain in them.
Had a game yesterday in which we faced an enemy Object 279e on Himmelsdorf. The 50TP in our team asked "Can I pen that 279 w/gold?"
I replied "Cupola if you're lucky."
Sure enough, I managed one cupola pen on him in my Skorpion, but he – a good player by stats and better than me – just pressed his tongue on the W key and steamrolled everyone.
It's crap. Really crap. And it feels like punishment for the main player base.
Do any other games do this?
