So after A LOT of trial and error over the last few years and lots of help from various guides online, I've seemed to finally figure out the variation of settings that works for my build and gave me a massive FPS increase whilst also making the game look better than when I had poor FPS.
First let me start off by stating the obvious. Tarkov is very poorly optimized and what works for some might not work for others, but in hopes that this helps some people out, I thought I'd share what worked for me.
Let me start off by sharing my specs.
- i7 8700K OC'd to 5GHZ
- RTX 2070 Xtreme OC'd through NVIDIA Experience (MSI Afterburner is probably a better option if you want to push the OC even further)
- 32GB 3600MHZ Memory
Earlier today I was running Reserve at maybe 70-80FPS with constant drops that made the game feel like shit. I've been getting these kinds of frames for awhile now too. After following a specific guide and making my own little adjustments, I'm now getting a steady 110-120+ FPS without any major drops and the game feels SMOOTH.
For some reason windowed borderless mode runs way better than fullscreen for me. As well as using DSR 2.25x and increasing my resolution in game to 3840 x 2160 with DLSS turned on to Quality mode. Also enabled GSYNC to run in Fullscreen + Windowed mode which before it was only set to run in windowed. So this may have made a difference as well because I don't run fullscreen.
I think that's everything and I hope this helps some of you! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, I'll try to help if possible.
