So I am a new player and none of this info is mine. I just watched some youtube guides on how the Scav AI works and how to use it to not die to them and I was able to put this advice into practice and farm scavs. Here is the info:
- If a scav starts yelling it means he spotted you and will start shooting.
- The longer a scav sees you the more precise he gets and the more vital areas he hits.
- Use cover, you can reset his aggro and his increasing precision after 5 seconds in cover. Then repeek.
- Scavs shoot limbs first, torso second and head first IF you show everything. But if you leanpeek and only show your head you receive a headshot first. The scav will prioritize what he sees. So if you peek a scav do it with your entire body.
- There is a degree of RNG with this, sometimes they will shoot your torso first or a buckshot makes it into your eye when they are aiming for your shoulder.
