Played a blinder

I only got into this last month. I never played it because, well, I had no interest in it I’ll be honest. But I agreed to reluctantly play it with a group of friends 2 weeks ago and found it rather addicting, especially being impostor. I thought of a tactic as impostor but never got the chance to try it. First time I tried it, the game glitched and I got kicked out of the app before even one meeting had occurred. My tactic is to get a crew mate on my side and use them to prove me as safe the entire game.

15 people, 2 impostors. I make sure I stick with a crew mate whole time. One person calls an emergency meeting, because my partner has been acting sus. People are annoyed at the meeting being called, and vote him off. Someone being a bit of a dick in the chat also attracts accusations of “sus.” I make sure I stick with the person I’d been sticking with throughout the next round, and a kill is reported.

My partner had killed in front of someone else. At this time, someone leaves the game, we are down to 12 (one left, one kill, one voted). However the someone else is the dick from earlier so people are split and the votes are tied. Someone then calls a meeting, accusing it of being the dick and asking everyone to vote for them. The guy is voted out and we are down to 11. During this time me and the guy I am sticking with are vouching for each other as “safe.”

Another meeting is called, my partner is gone, we go down to 10. The guy who accused wrongly earlier and defended my partner is next to go when I call an emergency meeting, down to 9. Next turn I slip away from my crew mate friend (and as my partner is gone I’m now lone impostor) and get a kill. I hide in vent for what feels like ages and the body is reported by someone. People call it a self report and he person who reported, despite the fact they had scanned, was voted out.

Down to 7 and a meeting is called. Everyone accuses one another, and, with something I have never seen before, everybody gets one vote. Another meeting is immediately called, and someone points out everyone has been in paIrs except one, meaning it must be them. Yellow has been accusing me all game, and my crew mate friend (brown) suddenly realised it is me, as I slipped away from them for the last kill. But the lone Wolf had already been voted out, leaving us down to 6.

Lucky for me, someone left, taking us to 5, but I realised my time was running out. Yellow and white had been against me all game, especially yellow, and now brown had turned on me. With blue being safe (asteroids), my time was up. As everyone stood around to call a meeting, I sabotaged reactor, and me and yellow went out to fix it. We fixed it, I watched him do a few tasks, and eventually white calls a meeting.

Blue had been sus of white all game, yellow then put in chat that I was safe and he apologised to me for accusing me earlier, saying I could have killed him multiple times but didn’t, therefore I was safe. I called yellow safe, apologised for accusing him, and we joined blue in accusing white. Browns protests that it was me as he has figured it out, but it is 3v2 and white is gone. I sabotage reactor again and me and yellow run to fix it.

I allow yellow to get away, and turn around, where brown and blue are waiting. I kill blue and report it, taking us down to 3. Meanwhile Im acting like a genius who has just figured it all out. I accuse brown of killing blue, and that I turned around because I saw it. I “put together all the pieces”, pointing out the only kill earlier was when brown and me got split up, and this meant brown was the killer. Yellow, now on my side, agrees and brown is voted off. I win the game, having played a blinder.

Just 3 kills, 2 people leaving and 8 people being voted off and I win the game from a full game. There’s something so satisfying about winning psychologically rather than killing them all. I got lucky, people leaving, some random accusations and managing to get another crew mate on my side. I also got unlucky, my partner acting sus and then killing in front of someone else meant he was gonna see an early exit. Overall, easily my favourite Amongus game
