I want to preface this by saying thanks to the devs, Mistlands is sick. I made a rambling post about wanting magic awhile ago and they certainly delivered. I haven't gotten to it yet (still need a few more black cores) but it seems pretty spicy and I'm stoked to try it out. I get the frustrations with the mist but I love the suspense it brings and the areas without it are that much more rewarding visually, though I do wish it was somewhat more dynamic ie the weather could clear more of it on certain days. To each their own, anyway this horse has been beaten to death lol.
Considering some of the ashlands spoilers we've been seeing, I really like the direction they're going with it. Lava and all that seems classic, I'm also hoping that we see a lot more of the whole ash part of the ashlands. I imagine this being desert sort of biome with sporadic pools of lava/volcanos and roaming undead. I also really liked the concept art of the dungeons. I think it'd be really interesting if some of the dungeons were buried/hidden beneath the ash, where players could be unassumingly running by and fall into the wrong part of a dungeon. Or maybe the undead would pull you down through the ash, or maybe they rise up around the area as an indicator of there being a dungeon nearby. Idk I'm not sure how it would work out but I think it would be pretty neato.
Also if the floating icebergs in the Deep North aren't used in the Ocean/Deep North boss fight I'm gonna be kinda bummed. C'mon gimme a cool ocean platforming boss I wanna fight a kraken trying to drown me. Or in a frozen lake that breaks into icebergs or something sounds equally appealing. Idk I want to do some high stakes jumping is all I'm a simple man. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
