To all my homies who keep getting popped on Woods and don’t know why.

Previous threads for Shoreline and Interchange.

This is an encounter probability heatmap for Woods. The red circles are centered around spawns and represent the distance your average PMC can sprint in the first 30 seconds of a raid. Where the circles overlap, there is a higher possibility of finding another player there. The more the circles overlap, the "hotter" the area and the better chance of running into at least two other squads.

If you find yourself consistently getting destroyed the first minute or two of a raid, consider using this map to plan out your first few minutes of every raid (before you get in there, mind you). Lighter circles are relatively safe, or at least have a lower chance of running into another player. If you spawn at RUAF Roadblock, you might consider hugging the shore rather than charging directly into the military camp. You have a supremely safe and uncontested path all the way to lumber camp. If you spawn at UN roadbloack, you might consider staying put and looking for other teams from the safety of the woods, rather than blindly charging in. If you spawn behind the USEC camp, keep in mind that you are most likely to encounter players at the sleeping bag and big rock.

It's up to you to decide what path is most likely for your opponents to take. If they spawn in the field above checkpoint, are they more likely to push lumber camp? The rocks that overlook USEC? Are they going to make a mad sprint for ZB-014? Based on your spawn, could you beat them there?

Keep in mind that sightlines on Woods can be very long, and it's all but impossible to account for sightlines. You might get popped from an overlapping circle, but at least you'll have a vague idea of where to look.
