We should be able to deconstruct armor and weapons for parts

Bones + Beech seeds = Chance of Birch Tree?

This especially makes sense for solo players who don’t have people to give their gear to as hand me downs. And as you unlock new recipes, it could save you some time by letting you cannibalize old equipment instead of having to do an ore run when you only need a few ingots

It would be nice if there was a station that let you deconstruct any old gear for their materials, similar to the Obliterator

Considering you can do the same for build pieces and receive all the ingredients back, it would be nice if that could apply to gear too

Ideally if you upgraded gear, you could get all the resources you used to upgrade it back too, and it could even cost a specific resource to do to keep things balanced

I began to feel this way after learning that it requires iron to make padded armor, meaning you’d have to back track two biomes to progress. It would’ve been cool if you could just break down your old iron set and use that to build the padded set. This prevents that back track and prevents you from having to put plains exploration on hold to go back to the swamps
