I just wanted to share my experience with the many crashes I had and how I (hopefully) ultimately fixed them.
I know some of these info are mostly already avaiable online but I want to put them together nice and clear.
When I started playing this game (last year), I used to have continous and multiple types of crashes that absolutely prevented me to fully enjoy the game, so I quit quite early. This time I looked further into it and finally solved the issue. Now I haven't crash a single time since that day and I'm loving the game, so I hope I can help someone.
Basically, I had two types of crashes:
The most common was crashing during loading of the raid, specifically right after LOADING LOOT. This type of crash occurred almost every single raid I loaded in, even multiple consecutive times.
The second one occurred in-raid. I think this is rarer among the community. It was just a random crash (sometimes with unity error log popup), and could even crash my whole PC restarting it .
And here is how I fixed each of them. Be sure to read throughly because some details are key for the fix to work:
The "LOADING LOOT CRASH" is fixed by:
Increasing virtual memory initial and maximum pagefile size to 16000 GB. IMPORTANT: you must increase it for the memory drive WHERE THE GAME IS INSTALLED.
Set "Run as Admin" for BOTH the launcher client AND the game executable.
The in-raid crash is instead related to CPU! The only way i managed to fix it was DISABLING THE OVERCLOCK of my GPU. It was OC'd to 5GHz, brought it back down to 4.3.
These points were exactly what my system needed to run EFT stable. While I hadn't all these down, the crashes kept happening, so each detail is paramount for it to succeed, at least in my experience. I can Alt+Tab during loading seemlessly and with no issues at all.
I play the game on 16gb of RAM, i7-8700k, Asus NVIDIA 1070 OC 16Gb. I hope I helped someone, enjoy!
