ED KB Map: a new web-based tool to visualize keyboard mappings

Hi CMDRs,

I would like to introduce a new tool that visualizes your current set of keyboard controls. It is available online at https://ondras.github.io/edkbmap/ and I hope you find it useful.

How does it work:

  1. you give it your keyboard bindings file
  2. the tool scans for keyboard-related commands
  3. commands are printed along with their keys, grouped into (collapsible) boxes
  4. color is used to visualize individual command groups on a keyboard

(all of this happens locally in your browser; your data is not uploaded anywhere)

Please note that command names are taken directly from the bindings file; they are not translated/sorted in any way. This is by design, to keep the tool as universal (and forward-compatible) as possible.

The tool has not been tested thoroughly (across browsers, E:D editions, control schemes, …). I would appreciate if you could report bugs/issues and feature suggestions: either in this thread or via the GitHub issue tracker at https://github.com/ondras/edkbmap/issues.

Fly safe! O7
