Ex-pro players and now a popular streamer NS shared his thoughts on possible conflict of interests that seemingly went unnoticed back in the TI11 qualifiers. BB Team that won the EEU qualifier is owned by betting company BetBoom Team — the same one that got the ru-broadcasting rights for these qualifiers.
I'm not accusing anyone of anything, not at all. But that is still a topic to discuss — as a situation itself in the vaccum. Why does no one talk about the fact that the winner of the TI11 qualifier in the EEU was BetBoom Team? A team of the same company that bought the broadcasting rights for these qualifiers and, therefore, has cleanfeed with absolutely no delay. Besides, it's also a betting company.
Once again, I'm not accusing anyone. If someone had told me that the BB team was cheating, I certainly wouldn't have believed them. However, it is still a massive conflict of interest, isn't it? But for some reason no one seem to care about that. Which actually surprises me.
I can share that some time ago Valve had doubts about EPICENTER,
That was not that long ago. But now we have this BetBoom situation on our hands, ond no one bats an eye. Isn't that weird?
And again, I'm 1000% sure that BB Team played their games and no one even thought that they can potentially abuse the system. Of course not. However, there's still room for abuse — purely in theory. And there's clearly a conflict of interest. That is weird.
