Hello EFT community.
We (the subreddit mod team) are members of the community. It can be easy to forget, but we love EFT and we play EFT. We also see the problems EFT has. We experience them the same way as all of you. As passionate as we are about the game, we are just as frustrated and disappointed as everyone else when it comes to its negatives.
Internally, our team has different personalities, different views of the subreddit, and different opinions on what we believe to be the right way to handle it. This has led to confusing, long rules and inconsistent moderation. As a mod team, we are now (mostly) on the same page as far as the state of this subreddit and the direction we need to go to improve it. Although our goal is to foster productive discussion, we acknowledge that it seems that we hide criticism of the game and of BSG.
We will be discussing the rules as a whole and looking at what we can tweak/relax on in the near future, but effective immediately:
Rants/complaints post that insult BSG in a way that violates our posting rules will be removed, but posts that are just pure criticism of the game, dev practices, etc. will no longer be removed. Essentially rolling back the part of the rule about requiring 'substance'. This is an effort to let the community as a whole decide what it wants to see and we will leave these posts in your hands to regulate.
Rule 7:
Posts about cheaters will no longer require video evidence and the discussion around anti-cheat will be more open and free.
Rule 3 remains in full effect. We ask that you engage with each other in the most productive manner possible.
Our goal is not changing; we still aim to foster healthy discussion about the game. We are just shifting our definition of what we deem to be 'healthy'.
