Can Brewmaster be played as a carry or mid at least?

So after time after time throughout the years getting our asses kicked by a brewmaster I decided to give him a go at mid. Currently won 3 and lost 1 with him. Overall with a very good networth and kills and farm. But most importantly he feels sooo fun. Im just wondering why he cant be played as a core??

I demod a full slotted brew and had him fight against full slotted agi carries and brew annihilates some of them and goes toe to toe with rest. (without using any spells from both sides).

His physical strengths seem to be:
– very good attack animation
– decent starting damage and attack speed
– has a built in crit thats better than a silver edge
– has a built in evasion
– has escape
– good strength gain

Then theres his spells:
– Can slow
– Aoe damage great for farming
– ignite like damage on top of Q
– can triple his evasion and crit chance
– ult can escape
– ult can stun
– ult can destroy all illusions in an area
– ult can zone people

His weaknesses seem to be:
– high mana cost abilities early
– low ish movement speed
– ult cooldown too long
– not an agi hero

So all of these considered can Brewmaster play as a core? You know bully the offlaner or enemy mid in lane, get last hits, harass, build echo, phase, maybe battlefury and flash farm?
