CDPR should have planned things for the last 4 to 5 months before Gwentfinity to NOT have new cards drops or reworks.

Now, hear me out for a second. Ever since I started playing Gwent (in late 2020) I have come to realise that the game is at its best/most balanced after long periods of time without new cards or significant reworks. This is, of course, because instead of introducing new cards/mechanics that will naturally add to the powercreep of older one, the devs would focus way more on balancing what's already in the game. Which brings me to my main point.

The last card drop was around 2 months ago, and the one before that was in July. Given that their team has probably been dwindling in size throughout the year, how could we ever expect to be left with a balanced game in hands when the last four months had two card drops? I think that they needed to have had at least 4 full seasons of no new cards or significant reworks to properly analyse and tweak the numbers so that the game felt balanced enough for there not to be a need of tons of nerfs or buffs.

For instance (just spitballing here), Milaen could have gotten to 5-6 power and 7-8p, making her playable (or at least close to it), and Stennis could have been buffed to an 7 for 7p, making him at least be considered to your deck as a pointslam option for NR. Like those two, lots of cards would need months of votes at the moment to become playable; or they would at the very least need to have a coherent vision behind their changes so that the whole thing was left in a balanced, cohesive state.

My point is that I think it was a mistake to not let the game "breathe" and settle properly before introducing Gwentfinity. Time-wise, I guess they couldn't afford another three months of it, so I personally think it would have been wiser to just have had 2 drops this year, or to have pushed back the last ones they released to the Tide Rises expansion. I don't know if this would have even been doable, but as an external viewer and Gwent enjoyer, it seems to me that it would have been a better decision for the game's longevity.

Any thoughts?
