Hi guys,
Today I tried the game The Cycle: Frontier. It also runs BattlEye anti-cheat, just like EFT.
What I noticed, however, is that the game would disconnect me every 1 minute or so. At first I couldn't figure out why, but then I closed my NetLimiter (software for prioritizing an app's internet traffic) and the game stopped disconnecting me.
So that means its anti-cheat detected NetLimiter as suspicious software and wouldn't let me play while it's on. The thing is, I always play Tarkov while NetLimiter is on. Why? Cause it helps me prioritize its connection over OBS or my browser for the best experience. Yet, EFT has never disconnected me because of NetLimiter which makes me think there's a difference in the BattlEye used by BSG and the one used by The Cycle.
Now, this could be just BSG being aware of NetLimiter and intentionally allowing it as an exception, but what are the odds of that when they even ban Reshade and dwm_lut?
I don't know how BattlEye works and if it has pricing tiers or if it's just up to each developer to enable certain filters or increase protection levels, but whatever the difference is, it seems that BattlEye could be detecting more stuff in Tarkov which it currently isn't configured to detect.
