Exploration and “content”

Straight to the point: this game is the one game I keep coming back to, because its concept promises that I might see something that nobody else has, if I go looking in just the right place. Then after playing for a month, I put it away for a while, after seeing the same things I've seen every time I play, while having made "progress".

I do believe that there's things in the game that nobody has ever seen, but I also believe that most of it is different colored variants of plant/mineral/whatever oddities, similar to how that other game promises that every planet you explore is unique. Yeah, maybe we've only seen half of what's "special" and out there to see, but maybe it's not worth seeing if it's just more of the same?

The ONLY mystery in the game (besides why Fdev decided to implement Space Legs the way they did and charge $60 for it, that is) is "Raxxla" and the "gate to a new galaxy" that they abandoned when they gave up on making a DLC with an entire new galaxy, and instead locked up the entire area where the gate is behind a bubble of BS system permits. Canon-wise, who tf is enforcing these permits, beyond the ones for systems where a superpower is housed? But I digress. (idk what other word to use, sorry it sounds pretentious)

I mostly started making this post after seeing the map (https://edastro.com/galmap/) and noticing that there's almost nowhere that hasn't been explored, even in the space between the galactic arms (memes and Null Permit Zones aside). Then when I started thinking about it, I probably have seen everything this game has to offer, besides the cockpit view of a Cutter and the owned interface of the stupid expensive Fleet Carriers (that I totally am working on, both of them).

What haven't I seen? Well, what I have seen is: Almost all the wonders in The Bubble, The Bubble Nebula, almost all the big nebula that aren't snowglobes (my nickname for those nebulae), the Spirograph Nebula ( <3 ), the Galactic Core and the SMBH at the center, basically every celestial body, the surface of basically every type of landable planet, and almost all (or at least on of each) notable thing in the Codex you can visit.

I've also done all the big things to do, besides anti-xeno fighting (which is futile, sorry to burst your bubble, I'm willing to bet that very little of what the community does actually changes anything). Mining, fighting, exploring, space pizza delivery, space mailman, space balls… now I'm just kind of idling, doing engineering with the express goal of getting my little Viper race-ready and pondering the mysteries of the universe… or rather, what's left of them.

So, tell me what you think. What is there still for me to do? Does anyone have a favorite, out-of-the-way system/planet/nebula/region/station that you suggest I see, like the Spirograph Nebula? Am I just a salty B because I spent $60 on Horizons for effectively Early Access to SRV DLC and got otherwise nothing for it but a skin for) ***everything but SRVs***, and another $60 for DLC that runs terribly at less than half the framerate and a tenth of the content of the base game, for full price? Or do I (sort of) have a point?

I also take screenshots of pretty places, go check out my picture posts for some pretty things to Ooh and Aah at, if that's your thing. Maybe suggest some places you've been? And yes most of my Karma is from a meme post from Space Engineers, it's crazy ik
