I did it, Finally. Took my wings as Rear Admiral today, and with title and rank I took ownership of the Federal Corvette warship. It was costly, Bloody, and a grind on motivation. My Cmdr went from a harmless spacecowboy, to a near expert assassin, being molded by the Federation–completing missions for them that they didn't even want to publicly admit too–and with an impeccable success rate I might add.
I am just hoping that all this was worth it… A new warship for my personal fleet, and for the Vindicated squad we fly under, let the build begin.
My Personal Takeaways in 2022:
- Takes way longer than 8 hours (YouTube lies and breaks hearts)
- Have a nice purse saved up to pay for "Donation" type missions.
- Use a smaller, well equipped and versatile ship like a Python.
- Having a second monitor with Disney+ streaming helps the soul crushing grind feel more fun!
Grind Location?:
- I explored many of the typical options for Federal space recommended on Reddit and found that they were Nerfed or just a terrible time/lacked high REP missions for the Federation. (Heard rescue missions were great, but had difficulty finding any. Reddit discussion said this may be an update issue?)
- Avoided:
- Canopus-Exphiay – (Popular cargo deliveries have longgg supercruise distance >> 3-5 interdictions per trip, T9s (and Condas I heard) will be mass locked making outrunning hard, and did not have many high rep Fed mission options)
- Ceos to Sothis – (Imp Loopish? idk why the recommendations for Fed ranking)
- Ochosi-Chakpa & Ngalinn-Mainani – (loops seemed to be nerfed)
- Used:
- SOL (Bouncing Earth/Moon Station Loop). Tried to find the old reddit user post recommending this but sadly couldn't! THANK YOU! This sped things up so much!
- Jump to Sol > SC to Earth. Then travel to: > Li Qing Jao > Abraham Lincoln > M.Gorbachev > Galileo Starports.
- There are 4 orbiting Orbis Starports: 3 around Earth, 1 around the moon. Jump to each station that is literally 30s apart, and accept only the FED Repuation +++++ & Donation missions from each. Complete missions for all four stations and repeat loop.
- *Sol requires a Federal permit, but it is well worth it for the sheer thrill and awe of flying past the Earth and seeing the sights. And it makes sense to rank up in the Federal Fleet in the heart of Federation space. (TBH I basically had this unlocked without knowing before starting my Rank grind choosing only FED missions — getting the permit was not hard)

Mission Types for fastest rank:
- ONLY Federal REP +++++ (5 star) Missions, and "For the Cause" $$ Donations (Need a large wallet)
- I found the fasted ranking by:
- Choose: Assassinations (Primary Mission as you can get in a out fast and stack missions in same systems), Bounty Hunting, only Close-range Planetary Scans, and the odd Data Courier Mission
- Avoid: Cargo Missions (Being Continuously interdicted in a spacecow (T9) sucks, condas will be mass locked & I'm after a vette not a conda), Long-Range Planetary Scans (Travel time is too long), Wet work (too high of a chance of notoriety/bounties adding time, and you're attacking civilian ships)
Tips:
- Scan/Interact with 'hub access terminal datalinks' from your ship not an SRV. (Pips to shields, Fly in fast and deployed, scan Hub, fly up & out boosting fast to a 90 degree jump vector, jump once out of mass lock.)
- YouTube has videos if your unsure of what I mean–getting skilled at this can mean scanning high security areas in seconds without being shot into scrap metal.
- Save close by Interstellar Factor locations for paying bounties and fines Frequently to avoid being hounded by security forces. These Fed Interstellar factors are like your cleanup crew you pay after a successfull hit.
