Got knocked out for wandering too close to the plains

Just finished Elder and was wandering around trying to find the swamp. Travelled for 3 hours and found nothing. After crossing a few rivers I came across a brown strip of land that I thought would probably be swamp.

While I was approaching the land (top right UI says I’m still technically in Black Forest), a mosquito pops out of nowhere. And before I can say “aw, how cute”, he bitchslaps me into yesteryear. Dropped all my armour including my painstakingly won troll gear and Megingjord. My friend died laughing when I told him I got one-shot by a mosquito. Then he died to a mosquito too.

Looked at the map when I respawned and realised our dead bodies (and precious gear) a long trek away. Was almost tempted to quit the game, when we came across the solution of the dev console.

Normally I’d hate “cheats” but we decided to use this one because the alternative of starting from scratch was not a solution. After some clunky teleporting I finally found our dead bodies, turned on god mode, and then used killall to nuke the mosquitoes. Revenge has never been sweeter

Left the mosquito loot alone, retrieved our dead bodies, and now we’re ready to try and find the swamp again. But this time we’re doing naked runs.

Would’ve been nice if Hugin warned us about the plains, or if the plains monsters didn’t have such a large aggro range that leaked into Black Forest
