I came back to Dota after a looong break recently and noticed this new character Marci. I thought I'll check her out and see what the design team came up with. I went in with kind of a negative mindset since the recent changes to the game had not appealed to me all that much. But I was in for a surprise. Marci is a brilliant character design by the team. Her entire kit is super fun with a high skill ceiling but a low skill-floor. Like, anyone can have fun rebounding around the map and tossing people. And the fact that they made a tiny girl that's super strong and agile and never felt the need to sexualize her one bit. Respect.
Now coming to my favorite part about the design: The gameplay incentivizes you to play with your teammates! Rebound gives your ally 15% movement bonus if you rebound over them. Her 3rd skill always grants her lifesteal even if you cast it on an ally so its objectively better to cast it on a teammate. This kind of stuff steers the game towards a non-toxic place where its more about working together than about exclusively farming alone and trying to get killstreaks. Good job, guys.
Just wanted to say this before the big patch drops and maybe hear what you guys think about the design.
