Opinion: The game would be way more fun if grenades weren’t in it…

I know how much hate is coming but this is MY OPINION. As a ex CSGO nerd who takes pride in aiming, I personally never liked explosives in game. Explosives are overpowered, require little to no skill to use and they are an RNG fest, you just hope it catches someone every time you throw it. I understand their potentially tactical use in some cases but if we're gonna be honest in Tarkov most people just spam them without really knowing what they are doing.

The most fair argument I've personally heard in favor of grenades is that you can snuff out rats hiding in rooms and around corners and although that's true, the changes to grenade throwing this wipe make it a huge liability to use them. In the real world you would throw them around a corner without ever peeking it, in that scenario it makes sense.

Then there's the fact that in the real world people are generally very aware of items on the ground around them. Our FOV is different, you could grab a grenade a toss it back, or notice it in the corner of your eye and dive into cover. In a game it's extremely difficult to replicate that. In real life if a grenade flies past my head, I'll be able to see it, in the game you really can't. If it lands next to me I'll be able to see it, in the game you can't… Even COD which y'all apparently hate because it's the opposite of realism, you can actually grab a grenade that lies next to you and throw it back!!! In Tarkov such mechanic is impossible to implement, although if it is, I'd love to see it.

This leaves us with the sad reality of this game which is that grenades come down to RNG, you just throw em and hope you do damage… Maybe I'm a tyrant but I'd rather have the game where everyone is forced to use a gun to kill others and not cheese lucky kills with grenades. It takes away from a firefight when the nade lands right next to you as you're shooting at someone and blows you into pieces. I know most of you disagree, that's cool, I just wanted to throw that out there. Maybe an event where people can't bring grenades in raids for a week just to see what would happen and if people would like that would be nice.
