So what’s the verdict on the scavs?

I am curious to know what the general consensus on the current scav AI is. With us being a little more than halfway through the wipe, the scav AI has been tweaked and tampered with. At first the scavs were so cracked that you could barely pass the construction site without getting locked on by the local cheekie breekies on Customs.

Now they are still kinda cracked, since they will lock onto you if they see three of your pixels within 100m but ya know at least they don't prone spam to Matrix dodge your bullets anymore. I've been thinking more on scav behavior lately and I think I'm nearing a point of having a clean opinion on them.

A more clear issue to me is not their behavior but rather their existence in the server. Scavs live on the server side of the game if I'm not mistaken, that is trying to be treated like a client side entity (once again if I'm not mistaken), yet because it is server side the scav's actions get interpreted pretty unfairly. That or it is bugged all together. Just a speculation. This is based on how scavs seem to shoot you more times than you would think, like say an SKS scav seems to one shot you to the chest but upon inspection in the health tab, your chest registered TWO shots.

I was originally on the camp of "it's just desync" the scav shoots twice and its received by the server before you've actually been hit by the second shot. However, I am led to believe that this is not true BECAUSE you can be killed by scavs "one shotting" you with two bullets using bolt action guns. How are you getting hit twice so quickly that the server has already pronounced you dead even though the scav hasn't finished the bolt action on the gun? Maybe it's lunacy or scavs need to be looked at more closely.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think scavs are just wacky or plain busted? Am I just ignorant and don't know what I'm talking about?
