So I have been playing for about 3 and a half weeks now, and I absolutely loved it for the first two. The past week and a half has been increasingly miserable, however. After patch 12.8 my performance is just absolutely awful. I run every other game I play fine on the highest settings but Tarkov feels super jumpy, and my FPS fluctuates constantly with low shadows and high textures. Raids have also just become impossible to survive. I hit 10 million rubles and just kind of flatlined right there. This is not an exaggeration when I say this, I have literally died in all 6 of my last raids on my PMC by one taps to the head, even with a level 4 helmet every time. I booted up the game after school today and hopped into a raid on customs, my best map, and got headshot by an enemy I never even saw within the first 2 minutes. I’m frustrated because it’s hard to learn when I’m constantly trying to fix performance issues, and then when I finally do a raid I’m just getting killed so quickly and not even getting the chance to fight back. Are there any settings that I might have on/off that’s making the game run so poorly? And how can I avoid getting my head taken off everywhere I go?
