The hoe tool definitely needs a better mechanism for creating slopes.

Walheim: how to make delicious mead and what it is for

I've never really messed around with the hoe tool other than to get completely flat areas for farming/building/whatever.

Today, for the first time in about 300 hours of playing, I tried creating a gently sloped road between my mountain base and the meadows/plains below (where my farm is).

And holy hell was it exhausting. Even with switchbacks, it's almost impossible to consistently create a road that's walk/cart-able without losing your mind. Get one area ok, turn on the switchback and… nope that part's fucked up so I'll just go ahead and… nope now that area is screwed so I'll just go and… nope now I've leveled the edge too much and… SCREW THIS I QUIT.

There has to be a better way to do this. Why doesn't the hoe have a grading function to it? Considering the amount of 26 and 45 degree building pieces it seems like it would be a no brainer to also create 26 and 45 degree slopes with the hoe tool.
