Whats the issue with matchmaking?

What’s the variable for the matchmaking finding raids? Can matches be made with only one player? Do servers have their own codification for matchmaking? Is it hosting? What’s the issue?

It seems to be an unanswered question. We constantly debate about this issue with my buddies and never reach an agreement.

There are populated servers that take a second to load, and there are populated ones with long matchmakings.

Empty servers like Hong Kong can find raids in under a minute, constantly, with or without players, while the South American server may take half an hour until you press the back button in a popular map like reserve.

We sometimes try to “fill” an instance with 6 – 10 players (which should be enough for most maps) in different groups but the game just doesn’t want to create the instance.

What is the real issue? Shouldn’t the game just allow to create an instance with one or a few players after a certain matchmaking threshold?

It really accounts for a big let down for new and old players alike, since it’s not consistent and puts some groups of players in disadvantages – we South Americans for example can ONLY play the game consistently with 150+ ms, no way around. And there is a South American server! It just doesn’t work.

Anyways, I’d love to get some answers and I really wouldn’t know where to search.

Cheers
