Why is NG played so much ?

geralt tsirilla gwent the witcher card game gwen

Nilfgaard's playrate is insanely high. Doesn't that indicate a problem ? In terms of balance I mean.

I'm playing on pro rank and if I showed you my match history you would think it's photoshopped. 10/7 games are against nilfgaard on pro.

Everyone is complaining about unitless milva etc. But I think NG is a bit more overpowered. Not a spesific deck, the whole archetype is just so good at most scenarios, on the long run wins you the most games.

Not to mention it gets boring to play against the same faction every game.

The root of the problem might be the amount of damage they can output, amount of control they have, the amount of removals they have and suspiciously cheap and powerful ones like Yen's Invocation. And then on top of that they are able to put good amount of points on to the board. It feels like jack of all trades, master of all. They only lack big engines but damage and removal to remove enemy's engines is more powerful than having your own engines. It's just the more powerful, consistent, it's the best, why would you play other factions are you nuts ? And I think this is where that playrate comes from.

I really think NG is broken and just wanted to know what others think about it.
