This game was amazing from a thought perspective. It was more a city builder, resource management game for me. I actually dislike the graphics, and the combat mechanics (especially the Mistlands verticality) I don't enjoy the gleam and light beams and 8-bit art. Alas, I still played it because I found value. But it brought myself and some coworkers together in a wonderful experience. We played this game as a 4-5-6 person battle through the ages, and it was a hidden gem. We individually contributed about +/- 300 hours. Until we got to Mistlands. I have maybe 5 hours of Mistland play, in no greater attacking words, it's dumb. Navigation + lack of visibility and lack of diversity has halted & killed the progress of this game. I have zero desire to even log in and continue the progression, and my fellow mates are in similar feels. I understand it's different, and you have to approach it differently, but it just doesn't work for me.
So now this scares me – while waiting for the next update, everything we're missing from a resource gathering perspective we're going to be behind when the next biome is released.
tl;dr – Wonderful solo & co-op experience in game until Mistlands biome; scared it will jeopardize future biome progression.
