I've played WoT since 2013, stopped after a year then came back last year. I played since Holiday Ops last year and I was enjoying the game until I started playing Dota again with my friends after the Waffentrager event.
I started up WoT again today and played some of my favourite tanks but the games were so fucking unbearable. In the 10 games I played, ALL of them were 15-5 stomps (played Tiers 6 – 9). Most of them started off with one of the flanks collapsing in seconds and I ended up with 8 defeats and 2 wins. The annoying part is that the two wins were the games wherein I was part of the flank that was charged and eradicated in seconds so I was bottom half for the wins while I was working my ass off at the top 3 spots when we lose.
I know that XVM is very controversial but I honestly think that playing without it is playing at a disadvantage since you might unknowingly find yourself holding a flank with a bunch of tomatoes shooting HEs. Vanilla WoT seems very unenjoyable.
With the upcoming bullshit tanks like the Tornvagn and the Caliban, is there honestly still a reason to play this shitty game? Is Holiday Ops even worth it anymore (The Arnold commander looks interesting though imo)? Is there anything to look forward to for the future (like balancing or smth) of World of Tanks or will 15-5 stomp games still be the norm if I play this again next year?
