I Found a Camo Mechanic that No One Knows About

Hey guys, this is DarkNinja_ from the NA server. Excuse my reddit name, I made this account when I was like 16.

I recently made a video on a little known camo mechanic in world of tanks. Unfortunately I can't post the video here because that would be self-advertisement which is against the rules but I wanted to share this mechanic with you anyways as I think you may find it helpful. The wiki says the mechanic in 1 sentence so I guess everyone for the most part missed it. But the weirdest part is that the wiki is actually wrong. The mechanic exists, but it is wrong about the specifics.

Let me explain. So the wiki states that " When you fire your gun, the camouflage bonus provided by transparent objects in a 15m radius around your tank is reduced to 30% of the original value". This basically means that bushes will still give you 30% of their camo value while firing even if you withing 15 meters of it (so it is transparent, not opaque like in double bushing). The wiki is right in that bushes still provide you a camo value when you fire when in them, but it is wrong about that 30% figure. In reality, the percent of camo that the bush gives you depends on the caliber of your gun (in mm). Lower caliber guns have better camo from bushes while large caliber guns have worse camo from bushes while firing. For example, from a standard 50% camo bush (all bushes and dead shrubs/trees have a flat value of 25% or 50% camo value), the T92 (240 mm gun) will retain 3% camo from the bush while firing, while an AM Gendron (25mm gun) will have nearly 15% camo from the bush. The relationship between gun caliber and camo from bush while firing is linear. I will add a link to a spreadsheet containing a table and a graph of this relationship so you can figure out how much camo you get from the bush. But the implications of this mechanic are huge if you know how to abuse it. For example, an s conq with 450 m view range will spot an EBR with full camo crew and low noise from 370 meters away when the ebr is firing inside a 50% standard bush (think the bushes on prok for example). I go through the calculation of how i determined this in the video but I don't want to go into it in this post because it is too much information.

That is all, hope this helps!
