I've been playing this game on and off for a decade, I took a years long break until a couple years ago because I got burnt out, and I'm close to that again.
TDLR: I used to love this game and it used to be incredibly rewarding, wargaming, please fix the insane number of stomp games and zero cooperation or teamwork. I want to love it like I used to.
Honestly, this game is so god damn fucking frustrating and they seem to not give one single shit about it.
Yeah, ok, cool, new update, new features, but for the past few days, a significant portion of my games have had 4-6 people doing 0 damage, regardless of tier.
15-3 roflstomps left and right, pounding my daily winrate to 40% at best multiple days in a row.
Every second game having a top tier tank that is actually not even playing, it sits idle at base afk, and then what a surprise, we lose, especially with super unbalanced matchmaking putting multiple clan wars reward tanks against honestly pretty trash tech tree tanks that aren't even close to equivalent. They keep milking money left and right for any possible event they can think of, but games on average last what, five minutes, often with multiple people just evaporating or suicide rushing, putting themselves into crossfire, and seemingly trying to throw battles to just get into another loss asap.
This game imo used to be so much damn more rewarding back in the day. I used to have close matches where it came down to 1v1, 2v2 or small figures like that, where positioning and tactics, or just skill knowing where to hit the enemy won the fight. This game used to get my heart pumping from thrilling close fights, long matches, and insanely fun experiences, even when losing.
Now? It's so incredibly rare to have this happen, and when it does it's so hard to appreciate. The few times I have a fight like that, even if it's a loss, I'll thank the guy and let him know he did a great job, and it was an insanely fun match, but being part of a roflstomp, on either side, just isn't fun.
Also teamwork. Why does nobody in this game seem to cooperate? You'll ask for help, try to plan something with people, and all you get is radio silence, or they'll return your ping, or hit f5, and then when you try to make that move, or key push with their help, there's absolutely nothing, you have nobody watching your back and you can't trust anyone to actually help unless you're platooning with them.
This game still has it's incredible, fun and rewarding moments, but god, they are just so far in between now, it's mentally exhausting seeing people left and right throw tanks away or have fights you can do literally nothing about, and days where despite being able to regularly hit 55%+ solo, you can't even make it above 40.
Wargaming, even though I know you won't, please, put some effort into this, stop allowing afk botters to keep entering battles with people who want to play, stop rewarding people that contributed actually nothing with xp and credits, and find a way to encourage communication and teamwork.
It used to exist, people used to talk, be social and work together, and now it's just a wasteland. I want to love this game like I used to and recommend it to people but now half of the reason I keep playing is just nostalgia, and if someone asks if they should try it, honestly, I'm going to say no.
Maybe it's just time to try and move on for good but god there is so much potential if things improved. I've heard minor rumors about NA and EU joining, I've heard that gameplay, both clan wars and pubs is massively different to the NA server, that people actually work together, camp strats get punished hard, and man, it just sounds like absolute paradise.
Unfortunately with 10 years into the game, I just can't start over from scratch grinding stuff over. Sure a reroll would help stats, but I've fought tooth and claw to get to the okay-ish level that I'm at and I don't want to lose that history.
Perhaps with three people every single match would help, but I don't want to just be carried through to stat pad. I'm sure that's how you get to have a fancy 60% winrate, but that just feels like you aren't actually earning it. But then I do play WOT so obviously I'm a screwed up massochist.
