Why I am quitting WoT after only 3 months

A lot of people are going to call this whining and to be honest, I dont give a flying fig. These are the reasons I am leaving after only playing for 3 months, they are based on my perception of the game from time spent playing. The problem for WG is that if this is the standard new player experience, then they might be in a bit of trouble because player numbers will start going down.

1) The stupid crew system – So I get my shiny new tier 4 Hetzer TD. Oh wait, unless I want to spend real money, I can only get the crew to 75%. Oh well thats fine. Get into the game and you are facing people with 12 crew skills who can spot you on the other side of a 1000m map. So you grind away and get your crew to 100%, then you have another year or so of grinding while hating every minute of it to get to a decent level of crew perks. New players are at a massive disadvantage here.

2) Matchmaker – I do not care what anyone says, you are at the mercy of the matchmaker regardless of your skill level. It is statistically so improbable to get 3 15-0 wins/losses in a row as to be virtually impossible. Unless of course the system is rigged. Yet getting 3 or more 15-0 losses in a row is fairly common (at least in my experience)

3) The focus on higher tiers – As a new player, you wont have anything that can take part in any of the decent events. Want to do your clan tour of duty – Tier 4 or higher, clan skirmishes- tier 6 or higher. Why? What is the reasoning behind that? I know I for one would enjoy seeing some of these top players / streamers / youtubers doing a clan war in tier 1 tanks. Would be quite funny.

4) The removal of rewards – So you dont have much play/free time and watch a streamer here or there thinking you will save up your tokens to eventually get one of the tanks on offer (100 tokens is a lot) oh, sorry, but we removed all your earned tokens because you didn't use them by the arbitrary date we decided on

5) Multi tier battles – A tier 4 light tank has absolutely no business in a fight that involves tier 6 tanks, unless you are spotting you are beyond useless so why force that issue? Tier 4 is supposed to still be starting out or learning and you throw them into a tier 6 fight.

6) The stupidest game client design known to mankind. Who thought it would be a great idea to force people to download 50GB of data just to try out a different region? I have never in my life encountered another game that is that badly designed. Its a few preference files ffs or are there totally different maps/tanks in every region?

7)RNG – Need I say more? You aim, get your circle as small as possible and your shot goes about 10m away from where you were aiming

Possible solutions
1) rework the client so it is easy to try out different regions
2) Change matchmaker so people can select the tiers/maps they are willing to fight against/on. When you click battle, have the option of random or selected options. If you make some choices then you wait longer to join a battle, thats your choice.
3) Limit crew skills at lower tiers – make it so you can have 1 perk per tier so you want to run around in tier 4, you can max have 4 perks, no more 120 perks per frikken crew member (yes thats an exaggeration)
4) seperate out new players until they reach say 500 battles. No point in being new and going into a battle and being dead in the first 30 seconds. You are not going to learn anything other than frustration.

In short, my play time is precious to me and I do not see the point in spending the little bit of it that I have at the mercy of the game rather than the other players and just getting more and more frustrated. This is less a rant than it is just something I wanted to get off my chest. WoT can be a super fun game and before anyone says I am just a sore loser, my best battles have been ones I lost, but where each team played really well and it was super close. Like I said, it can be a super fun game, but the reality is that there are problems with it that will put off a lot of new players that otherwise might have stuck around and thrown some money at the game. I am obviously not the only one thinking there is a major problem as a lot of the big youtubers/streamers that I watch are also mentioning issues. I wish that WG would look into some of the points I raised, but I doubt they will. And no, "Getting good" will not solve these issues.
