Looking past Beta

Tarkov is a very unique game IMO. You have progression like an MMO but super risk to lose everything at first. Overcoming gear fear is difficult for us noobs.

That being said, I am slowly overcoming gear fear by remembering that a wipe is coming, and either way, I'm losing the gear.

Fast forward to sometime in the distant future.

Wipes in production..

Not sure how that will play out. I mean, thats the defacto excuse right now, "its beta, you'll lose everything, expect it". Once its not beta, are they still going to wipe? I could see that hurting sales, I don't know of any other full games that wipe regularly. MMOs have higher zones for the geared folks with noobie zones for the new people. It keeps the game moving. COD has algorithms that match up skill level based on K/D and levels, that keeps the noobs together and the good players together.

Without wipes, eventually the market will saturate, everyone will be stacked with millions of roubles that take the gear fear away, even the casual guys (like me) will eventually build a stash to where there is no "fear" and insurance will always pay out because over time everyone will have the best gear.

So, do you think there will be wipes once its past beta, or will it have other mechanics to keep it flowing?
