Season 3 is ending pretty soon and Season 4 is right around the corner. This post is to summarize what's to come for the new Season. And the name of the new season is Season 4: Assimilation. Which is defined as the process of adapting or adjusting to the culture of a group or the state of being so adapted. The next season will be released on February 4th.
New Legend
Everyone thought that with Remnant being in the Halloween event that he would be the next legend. Boy were we thrown for a loop. The next legends name is Forge. The devs gave us a little hint as to what his abilities/personality would be like.
Forge is a Five-Time Hyper Fighting Federation Champion who's joining the games to look for a new challenge. Forge is a brawler and has "a mean left hook". From this it seems like Forge will be a melee type legend. Also Forge is the first corporate sponsored legend. Sponsored by Hammond Robotics. Forge's abilities haven't been dataminned yet but I will update you all when I find them.
Map Changes
World's Edge will be getting some major changes much like King's Canyon did for season 2. From what it seems like, World's Edge was hit by a meteor or something really big. Not sure what yet but from what I know players can see a light in the clouds that wasn't there before. Players can currently see it hovering above World's Edge and here is the aftermath.
Other changes we will see will be made by the Hammond Robotics company. The Devs said "similar to the way we did Kings Canyon update in season 2 where we changed a big portion of the map we'll do something like that for world's edge. Hammond might have something to do with it." We won't know what type of changes until the start of season 4.
Another big surprise is that King's Canyon will be back. However, it isn't clear in what way it will come back. Devs explained how King's Canyon will be played for Ranked during Season 4. To fully explain this let's talk about Rank Changes.
Rank Changes
One of the big changes that Apex is doing is adding a new tier to the ranks. Now after finishing Diamond you will go into the Master rank.
Now the main question is what will happen to Apex Predator? Apex Predator is now only given to the top 500 players of there platform. So now you must keep your RP up in order to stay in the ranks of Apex Predator.
Along with this, Apex will now have something in Ranked called Splits. Splits will be where half way through the season, players will receive a rank reset and start playing on a different map. You will be reset the same way as last time. (For example, if you were Predator you'd reset to Platinum 2) The different map will be King's Canyon.
So going back to Map Changes. This could mean one of 3 things.
- King's Canyon will be an optional map to play during the season.
- World's Edge will switch back to King's Canyon half way through the season.
- King's Canyon will only be available halfway through the season for only ranked.
Either way this means King's Canyon will come back a some point. [Self High Fives]
New Weapon
Apex has always used weapons from their previous Titanfall games. Well this is the first weapon that won't be from previous games.
The Sentinel is a powerful bolt action sniper rifle. This sniper will have a charge mechanic to it. The longer you charge the more damage you do. The charge is optional so you don't have to charge it all the time. It is unclear if the sniper will be another golden weapon or a regular weapon but from what is seems it may be a energy sniper to combat the Triple Take.
Conclusion
Thank you Devs for season 3 it has been a really fun season and I can't wait to see what's in store for Season 4.
