It’s been a really good time

Yennefer's Journey

Today, when Dandelion released his final episode I finally realised that my favourite online game, in with I have spent the most time among all, is dying. For the first time in my life I have real urge to write smth, to tell someone story of this game.

The Gwent was a start of my journey, I'm rare kind of person that started adventure with Witcher universe from there. I love all the books and games and that how I become real fan of fantasy, cRPGs and whole this stuff.

It's really depressing for me that it will be abandoned by developers, and as far as we know without full freedom for players (I thought maybe possibility of making modes would be good to keep community and game alive). The idea that a game in with I've spent over 600h of good time will someday close their servers seems so unreal to me. I know that this won't happen at least in nearest 2 years but I feel like this future could be just around a corner.

And what's then? We will gather for last hours like players of old MMORPGs? We even don't have option to communicate in Gwent and probably won't have in future, because it requires admins that could have ban, for examle, toxic players.

The worst thing was realization that it was all foreseeable, like only by looking on reward book, content creators, channel of developers, singleplayer games or even this subreddit, whatever to choose. On each site of a book you can see how each year we was getting half of content we would be given previous year, on any related channel the most popular videos are probably the ones from beta, and we don't have any creators that would be there from later then homecoming. For some reason (I really wonder why, despite poor marketing) game after end of beta didn't really attract new people. Even on this subreddit you can see on top all, that the most upvoted post are the ones from 5-6 years and it's really a problem to find something younger than 2 years. And singleplayers? Thronebreaker was so good, beaten it two times and probably few more in future, everything, even marketing wich is rare in Gwent, was decent. Rogue Mage don't have any comparable aspect.

It just seem so unfair, that my game is about to die and I hadn't seen that, despite the fact I had these before my eyes. I'm truly sorry, that after this year I will never see new card sets or new trees with interesting fittings to well known lore.

I'm hoping that we have big enough fanbase to keep these game alive with or without functions to actually change it anymore

Sorry for all the mistakes and terrible structure, but I'm typing it late and still in emotions. Goodnight.
